All experiences qualify for stipends, so please keep track of your time and send us an invoice each time you reach 20 hours! We can provide you with a template, and more events will be scheduled soon.
- Sat., May 2: Two Events–Choose either or both!
- Emerald Ash Borer (EAB) research training from 9:00 am – 11:00 am with Clackamas County Soil & Water Conservation District (22055 S Beavercreek Rd, Beavercreek, OR 97004)
- Stewardship Saturday service-learning work party from 10:00 to 12:00 at the ELC (21 Inskeep Dr. in Oregon City) , followed by lunch and a STREAM~N Team gathering until 1 pm.
- Sat., May 9: Sawmill workshop and service-learning at beautiful Hopkins Demonstration Forest (16750 S Brockway Rd, Oregon City, OR 97045) from 10 am – 1 pm. Let us know if you would like a lift from the ELC at 9:30.
- Sun., May 17: Service-Learning with BeeLieve Foundation at Clackamas Community College in Oregon City on their new pollinator tract from 1:00 – 3:30 pm. Stay tuned for details!
- Sat., May 23: Vera Katz Beach Cleanup in Portland with Human Access Project and SOLVE from 10 am – 1 pm: We’ll team up with these great organizations to remove sharp rocks and use trash grabbers to get the beach clean.
- Meet in front of the Firestation 21 at 5 SE Madison St., Portland at 10:00 AM: Map Link; We will walk to the nearby beach.
- Let Rick know if you would like a lift from the ELC (21 Inskeep Dr. in Oregon City) at 9:15,
- Several bus lines stop near Firestation 21 including the 6–Martin Luther King Jr; 14–Hawthorne/Foster; and 15–Belmont/NW 23rd. If you will be arriving on bike you can access the location via the Eastbank Esplanade.
- What to Bring: Please wear closed-toed shoes and weather-appropriate clothing, and bring a backpack for hands-free convenience. Feel free to bring your personal tools if available and a reusable water bottle to support our sustainability efforts.
- What’s Provided: Trash grabbers, trash bags, buckets and work gloves
- Restrooms: There will be a portable restroom near Fire Station 21.
- Sat., June 6: Two fun options for service and stipends!
- Help us educate the public about STREAM~N Team’s work and ecological restoration with our partner Trajectory at the Sandy Invitational Chainsaw Competition and Sustainable Forestry Festival in Sandy, OR. There will also be opportunities to do service-learning and climb trees with Ant Farm Youth Services and certified arborists at the Tickle Creek restoration site nearby. A shuttle bus will be able to take us back and forth between the two sites.

- Sat. June 13: Canyon’s Edge STREAM~N Center Service-Learning and Research from 10:00 am – 12:30 pm (600 Alden St. in Oregon City): Get a workout removing invasive plants together and help with emerald ash borer, tree inventory, and/or wildlife research projects
- Mon., June 15: Tour and activities at the Margaret Carter Skills Center and C.A.T. Studio of Portland Community College Cascade (705 N. Killingsworth St. Portland, OR 97217) from 10:30-1:30 pm, followed by service-learning in NE Portland
- Thurs.-Fri., July 30-July 31: Service-learning at the Oregon Coast in and around Newport! We will team up with Yakona Nature Preserve, Hatfield Marine Science Center / Oregon State University, Oregon Coast Aquarium and other partners. Please save the dates and stay tuned for details! 🙂
Service and fun at beautiful Wilkes Creek Headwaters in Portland with partners including Better Chances, IRCO, and Portland Parks & Recreation. We hope to return for a third project there again soon–stay tuned!
