Our next scheduled events are below.
All experiences qualify for stipends, so please keep track of your time and send us an invoice each time you reach 20 hours! We can provide you with a template, and more events will be scheduled soon.
- Sat., June 6: Two fun options for service and stipends!
- Help us educate the public about STREAM~N Team’s work and ecological restoration with our partner Trajectory at the Sandy Invitational Chainsaw Competition and Sustainable Forestry Festival in Sandy, OR. There will also be opportunities to do service-learning and climb trees with Ant Farm Youth Services and certified arborists at the Tickle Creek restoration site nearby. A shuttle bus will be able to take us back and forth between the two sites, or we can walk.
- Meet us at the ELC (21 Inskeep Dr. in Oregon City) at 8:00 AM or at the event at Dick Hannah Ford & Chevrolet 36936 US-26, Sandy, OR 97055 at 9 AM: Map Link. We could stay until 5:00 PM or leave whenever folks need to. We will have 2 cars and can leave in two groups.
- OR you can join the monthly Stewardship Saturday work party at the John Inskeep Environmental Learning Center (ELC) at CCC from 10:00 am – noon.
- What to Bring to both events:
- Please wear sturdy, closed-toed shoes that can’t slip off your feet, weather-appropriate clothing, and bring a backpack for hands-free convenience.
- We strongly recommend long sleeves and durable pants.
- Feel free to bring your own work gloves and/or personal tools, if available, and a reusable water bottle to support our sustainability efforts.
- We also suggest you bring a bag lunch that we can eat at the park if you plan to join us in Sandy.
- What’s Provided: Snacks, tools and work gloves.

- Fri., June 12: Fab Friday at Clackamas Community College’s (CCC’s) Les de Asis Makerspace, from 5:00 pm – 8:00 pm. Engineer/educator Craig Connors will give us a tour at 5:00, then we’ll build community while we build cool things! Possibilities including woodworking, 3D modeling and printing, CNC operation, welding, laser engraving, and more. One option is helping us create “Plant Name Tags” for the many native species we are planting nearby at the new Canyon’s Edge STREAM~N Center.
- Sat., June 13: Sawmill workshop and service-learning at beautiful Hopkins Demonstration Forest (16750 S Brockway Rd, Oregon City, OR 97045) from 10 am – 1 pm. Let us know if you would like a lift from the ELC at 9:30.
- Mon., June 15: Tour and activities at the Margaret Carter Skills Center and C.A.T. Studio of Portland Community College Cascade (705 N. Killingsworth St. Portland, OR 97217) from 10:30-12:30 pm, followed by lunch and service-learning in NE Portland.
- Sat., June 20: Salem STREAM~N Team’s first BBQ at Woodmansee Park, 4629 Sunnyside Rd SE, Salem, OR 97302: Teens ages 15-18 from the Salem-Keizer-Silverton area invited to connect with wonderful local coordinators Eyan Hackney and Kristina Zatarain. You will also be able to connect with other other interested youth and STREAM~N Team’s Founder, Rick Reynolds. Help us improve the park a bit and plan this exciting new chapter of The STREAM~N Network!

- Wed., July 15: Tour of the Oak Lodge Wastewater Treatment Plant (13750 Southeast Renton Avenue, Milwaukie, OR 97222), and service-learning before or after. Stay tuned for the times and other details!
- Fri., July 17: Service-learning and Traditional Ecological Knowledge (TEK) Education with Parrott Creek’s Cultural Ecology Program in Oregon City from 10:00 am – 1:00 pm
- Thurs.-Fri., July 30-July 31: Service-learning at the Oregon Coast in and around Newport! We will team up with Yakona Nature Preserve, Hatfield Marine Science Center / Oregon State University, Oregon Coast Aquarium and other partners. Please save the dates and stay tuned for details! 🙂
